[ To say the past week or so had been difficult would be the understatement of the century.
She went into that literal hell with the intention of bringing her friends back, and ended up with nothing to show for it. Upon hearing of the fallen reviving quicker than usual, she had camped out in the morgue in hopes of finding them. But they never came back. So it's a few days later that she contacts Francis, just to make sure someone is still around. She sounds distant, and it's probably weird she is actually using the voice function when she favours videos more often than not.]
[he's in his own nest at the apartment when he gets the call. weird shit's been going down and he's just trying to keep out of it, but when he sees who's calling? yeah, instantly picks up]
[ She doesn't know what to say, so she opts to just say nothing; silent for a good thirty seconds. She'd be surprised if he even stuck around until she speaks again, ]
I'm not home. [ That didn't answer the question. ] Could you come to the gardens? [ She almost didn't want to ask, but she doesn't want to move either. ]
Okay. [ She doesn't say anything after that, and whenever he does show up he will find her sitting on one of the benches, legs curled up to her chest with her head pressed to her knees. ]
[ She lifts her head up, and habit has her trying to smile but it's a little too late to start acting like she isn't miserable. ] Sorry you had to come all the way out here.
[ She raises her hand to set it over his, staring down at the ground. ] I should be happy they're home, but... [ Some of them may or may not be dead. ] Anyone could leave at any time - and I never get to say goodbye properly.
What about the ones that never really make it home? [ They will never know, ] What if Veles is next? Or you, or ...me. [ not really worried about herself since she was alive, but Veles is dead and Francis' life is shitty from what little she knows. ]
I didn't... [ Oh god don't she will feel even worse. ] I didn't mean -- [ backtrack. ] you. I didn't mean you. [ no. now it sounds like she doesn't care about his situation, but she does and she knows how that feels but dammit. ] I mean what about those that died back home and came here...
I know that... [ oh, does she know. ] But it is cruel to bring them here, only to take them away again. [ It's cruel to bring anyone here, because Abax is awful but that's not the point. ] I want to believe they do go somewhere better. [ but she doesn't want them to go at all. ]
[ She continues to stare at the ground, wide eyed. Might as well twist the knife while you're stabbing her in the heart, Francis. ] I... [ she can't answer that. ]
I suppose that's a risk we all must take here... [ She took that risk just by making friends with all the people that left so far. And she didn't regret that at all, even if it hurt. ] Thank you.
I know, and I appreciate all that you've done for me. I really do... [ and now she feels bad for ...feeling bad earlier. ] I just want you to be happy, too.
gently slides in here. also [ voice - sept. 26th. ]

Lior? You okay?
what a great way to kick off your contact post
I don't know. [ that wasn't entirely a lie, but it wasn't entirely true either. ] I just wanted to make sure you were still here.
the best possible way
Did something happen? [outside the obvious crazypants bullshit going on, of course]

Some of my friends... they didn't -- [ I couldn't save them. ] They didn't come back like the others.

Before you say that doesn't make sense, it totally does to her when she is grieving. ]
They should've -- I wasn't -- [ She stops herself again. ] Sorry. That's all I wanted.
